Position Overview: The Director of Supply Planning is responsible for overseeing the planning and management of the supply chain to ensure the efficient flow of goods and services. This role involves demand forecasting, inventory planning, and coordination with various departments to meet operational needs. The Director of Supply Planning ensures that supply chain activities are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals, optimizing costs and improving service levels.

Location: On-site in Orlando, FL**

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Planning:

  • Develop and implement supply planning strategies to support business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, demand patterns, and supply chain data to forecast future needs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align supply plans with company goals.

Demand Forecasting:

  • Utilize advanced forecasting tools and techniques to predict demand accurately.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather input and refine forecasts.
  • Adjust forecasts based on market changes, promotional activities, and other factors.

Inventory Planning and Management:

  • Establish inventory targets and manage inventory levels to balance supply with demand.
  • Monitor stock levels and implement measures to reduce excess inventory and stockouts.
  • Develop policies and procedures for inventory control and management.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate supply planning activities with procurement, logistics, and distribution teams.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and address any supply chain disruptions.

Optimization and Efficiency:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline supply planning processes and improve efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize technology and supply chain management systems to enhance planning accuracy.

Risk Management:

  • Assess supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Monitor external factors such as market conditions and geopolitical events that may impact the supply chain.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure supply continuity.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and manage a team of supply planners and analysts.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on supply planning performance and key metrics.
  • Conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply planning or supply chain management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proven expertise in demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in supply chain management software and planning tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of best practices in supply chain and inventory management.

Work Environment:

  • The role is typically based in an office setting, with occasional travel to hospitality locations, suppliers, and industry events.
  • The Director of Supply Planning may need to work beyond regular business hours to meet deadlines and manage planning activities effectively.
