General Practitioner - Salaried / Partner for Inner cityMedical Centre
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and autonomouspractitioner in the form of a Salaried GP / Partner to join our dynamicteam.
The successful candidate willadhere to GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to effectivemanagement of the practice, lead by example whilst maintaining a positivecollaborative working with multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner,responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population,delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with theGMS / PMS Contract.
Furthermore, the postholder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributingto the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining apositive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinaryteam.
The following are the coreresponsibilities of the salaried / partner GP.There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, thiswill be dependent upon factors such as workload and staff levels.

Our location had also changed to the heart of the CityCentre (Commercial Road) in Portsmouth, where trendy shops are located and theGunwharf Quays designer outlet shopping centre is a very short walking distance,which can be visited during short breaks.
We have a very low turnover of staff and pride ourselves asa small family practice.
Current list size stands at 19,000.
We are a training practice with GP Registrars, medicalstudents, nursing students, physician associates and Pharmacists.

In accordance with the practice timetable, asagreed, the post holder will make themselves available to undertake a varietyof duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations andqueries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptionsand dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisations.
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Developing care plans for health in consultationwith patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
Providing counselling and health education.
Admitting or discharging patients to and fromthe caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultationnotes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes, usingtemplate provided.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acuteand repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions wheneverpossible).
Prescribing in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (for generically) whenever this is clinicallyappropriate.
In general, the post holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.
Support the training of medical students fromall clinical disciplines. Support thepartners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, makingrecommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
Review and adhere to practice protocols andpolicies at all times. Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a cultureof continuous improvement at all times in addition to the primaryresponsibilities.
Participate in local initiatives to enhanceservice delivery and patient care.Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events, applyinga structured approach, root cause analysis.
