Position Summary
The VP of People Operations plays a critical role in our organization, overseeing the management and development of our most valuable assets, our people! This position requires a strategic and forward-thinking individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment as part of the aviation technology industry. DroneUp is looking for an exceptional, executive, and capacity-builder equipped to scale and support the growth of the company. The VP of People Operations, will not only be the architect of the talent acquisition strategy for sourcing, recruiting, and hiring top talent, but will also be focused on employee experience and engagement aligned with our culture for roles in technology, product, software and systems engineering, IT, aviation, drone pilots, logistics, operations, corporate support, and various other functions. This position will lead, develop, and continue to build out a best-in-class People team while shaping company strategy in the areas of compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion practices, performance management, and Human Resource processes.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer, and other cross-functional stakeholders, to develop and implement an innovative People operations strategy that attracts, onboards, develops, and retains exceptional people and supports the rapid growth of the organization.
Inspire, lead, and cultivate teams responsible for all aspects of People operations and processes including; onboarding, payroll and benefits, compensation, employee relations, and HRIS technology and systems
Develop and lead the talent acquisition strategy, program, and organization to source, recruit, and hire exceptional, diverse talent across the organization at all levels
Lead and support the development of geographic, regional recruitment strategies and talent pools to support drone delivery and enterprise drone operations growth (i.e., local community, UAS colleges, military, and transferable/adjacent industries)
Serve as business partner of executive leadership in operations, technology, finance, sales and marketing, and other organizational stakeholder leadership to strategize and design an organization structure that is efficient, effective, and scalable which can be forecasted to determine a budget for human capital needs
Partner with marketing and HR on our digital and social media strategy to highlight DroneUp’s culture and work environment to attract prospective candidates in various fields
Oversee, manage, and select outside recruiting/staffing firms, independent contractors, and talent acquisition systems and tools
Spearhead the assessment of talent in both national and international M&A deals
Build strong and deep relationships in the drone, tech, aviation, and logistics sectors to support company growth
Deliver a best-in-class experience across the sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding aspects of the employee lifecycle
Care for our people

Requirements
MBA or MA in related field and SPHR a plus
Authentic, transformational or servant leader who can build trust, model the way, inspire others and influence stakeholders
12 years of progressive experience in People Operations; high-growth, innovative, global, and scaling businesses, ideally in the tech, aviation, and/or logistics space, a plus
Strong knowledge of People strategies, processes, policies, laws and tools
High level of experience in high growth, innovative, global, and scaling businesses, ideally in the tech or logistics space, a plus
Experienced in design thinking, process mapping, change management, and HRIS technology
Strategic thinker that can simultaneously focus on tactical and operational issues with demonstrated experience in managing multiple, on-going deliverables from multiple stakeholders
