Southland Transportation is hiring CDL A Regional/OTR Dry Van Drivers in Roanoke, VA. Back in 1988, we started with just three trucks and a small office in Dobson, NC. After serving the local furniture and automotive industries, our company grew and expanded to a fleet of more than 200 tractors. Compensation:

• Drivers earn a competitive pay averaging more than $1,400 per week with less hassle

Home Time, Route & Schedule:

• Home Time: 96% of our drivers are home weekly
• Schedule: Drivers are typically out 5 days and home 2; the day you depart can vary based on customer needs
• Route: Southland Transportation wants you to drive the route you love! Select one of the three Regions to operate within:
• Midwest Region Operating Area: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee to Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin multiple times a week
• Northeast Region Operating Area: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee to Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York (upstate), Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont multiple times a week. No New York City or Long Island trips!
• Western Region Operating Area: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee to all points west of the Mississippi River multiple times a week
• Level of Touch: No touch freight; 60% drop and hook opportunities

Equipment

• All trucks are 2017 or newer Freightliners & Volvos
• All assigned – no slip seating!
• All Automatic with toll passes
• Outward facing cameras only – only activated on incident

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 23 years of age
• Must have CDL A license 
• Must have a minimum of 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience with a clean driving record within the last 3 years
• 0 DUI/DWIs in last 7 years 
• No endorsements required 
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations 
• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen 
• Current passport, or ability to get a passport for Northeast route is preferred but not required; company will help drivers obtain
• Hiring Radius: Drivers should live within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA – Drivers can live outside this hiring radius but cannot be guaranteed same home time.
