The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER SUMMARYEnsure that details are followed from the banquet event order (BEO) and check BEO for that day’s setups in all upcoming functionsReview and check all upcoming BEOs and production sheets for shiftUnlock meeting room doors, change door cards, check lighting and temperature in meeting roomsProvide guests with the finest quality of service at all times and in a warm and enthusiastic mannerDeliver soiled lined to laundry department; determine if linen needs to be washed immediately for next day’s setup or in the immediate futureAssign room clean outs and setups staffEnsure that all catering areas are maintained in a clean, organized and safe conditionEnsure that at the close of a function and at the end of the workday, all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked, with proper room temperature and lights turned off, and ensure all equipment is stored in the designated areaAt the end of each shift, inspect and make any necessary correction on all work done by setup staffTake ownership of all guest compliment or complaints and relay some to managementSubmit maintenance request to Banquet Manager/Director of Catering Operations for broken or damaged equipmentAssist staff with room setups, food service, and clean up when necessaryMaintain Driftwood and hotel standards of food, beverage, and quality guest serviceEnsure guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional productOther duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESMust demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates and vendorsAbility to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and proceduresAttend all required meetingsAble to complete projects/assignments thoroughly, professionally and with careAble to adjust to high-pressure conditions and is open to changeCan assume responsibility for personal growth and developmentConducts him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associatesUnderstands and communicates the Driftwood MissionExpresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively and professionallyActively listens to othersMust have “50” radio system with ear piece at all timeCan convey company information, decision or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basisWorks to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers PHYSICAL DEMANDSMinimum lifting/pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniquesPushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterityIf weight exceeds 40 pounds, asking for assistance is requiredHearing, wring, typing JOB TYPEFull TimePAYBased on experience
