ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.Have an extensive knowledge of audio/visual equipment to include sound and data projectors, as well as computers, internet and lightingEnsure that details are followed from the banquet event order (BEO)Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times and in a warm and friendly manner utilizing aggressive hospitality skillsEnsure at all AV areas are maintained in a clean, organized and safe conditionEnsure that at the close of a function and at the end of the workday, all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked, and all equipment is stored in the designated areaTake ownership of all guest compliments or complaints, and relay same to managementSubmit maintenance requests to the AV Manager/Director of Catering OperationsMeet with function group leader to determine last minute changes and discuss various setup arrangementsAssist staff with room set ups and clean up when necessaryMaintain Driftwood and Margaritaville standards of food, beverage, and quality guest serviceEnsure guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional productAttend required meetingsMust have “50” radio system with ear piece at all timesOther duties may be assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESMust have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendorsAbility to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and Margaritaville policies and proceduresProjects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with careAdjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to changeAssumes responsibility for personal growth and developmentConducts him\herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associatesUnderstands and communicates the Driftwood MissionExpresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionallyActively listens to othersConveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basisWorks to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workersMust have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functionsMust have knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulationsMust have good mathematical and computer skillsHigh school education and relevant training and experience required.
