JOB SUMMARY Supervises accounting staff, assists controller in month-end closing, maintains balance sheet reconciliations, maintains & supports computer systems, trains all associates in accounting department, maintains internal audit controls, reviews daily revenue report, and tracks daily cash. POSITION PURPOSE:
Support our team by providing financial processing support via daily workflows. Monitor, record and reconcile revenues, payables and cash transactions. Create summary spreadsheets for daily information output. Able to perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and manage these tasks in a short period of time with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Update daily income journal, reconciling revenue and out of balance issues.
Reconcile daily cash transactions and prepare bank deposits.
Maintain House Safe and audit house banks as per schedule.
Properly match all invoices, code and enter expenses (AP) to the correct general ledger account and obtain appropriate department head approvals.
Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis and handle vendor and internal inquiries.
Handle guest billing issues and work with all departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
Research and respond to credit card chargebacks as required.
Monitor and prepare Bonvoy reward redemption.
Prepare and post (AR) city ledger adjustments as needed.
Research credit applications for direct billing and process for approval.
Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
Prepare and distribute various reports to internal management team.
Assist Controller with month end processes.
Complete any ad-hoc projects requested by Controller and/or General Manager.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess basic computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word programs.
Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must possess basic mathematical ability.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Education High school or equivalent education required. Experience One to two years cash handling and Accounting experience required. Hotel/Lodging experience preferred. Schedule Generally, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., however, must be able to work varying shifts based on business and client demand, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
