Job Overview:
Driftless Design Build is currently seeking a motivated Carpenter apprentice. This position offers an opportunity to learn and develop carpentry skills under the guidance of an experienced craftsmen. We are a family oriented company that specializes in residential-new construction, additions and remodels. All of our projects are built to exceed residential building standards while showcasing the latest in green building practices and sustainable architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Be punctual and show up with a willingness to learn.
• Prep the site every morning, and maintain a clean environment throughout the work day.
• Assist co-workers with whatever task is at hand.
• Load or unload materials.
• Ask questions and execute tasks with an understanding of what you are doing.
• Clean up and break down tools at the end of every workday.

Qualifications:

• Experience is not required but basic knowledge and interest in carpentry/construction are.
• Capable of following instructions and working effectively in a team environment.
• Physically able to perform a wide variety of tasks in any weather condition.
• Familiar with power tools and their safe usage.
• Mathematical proficiency is a plus.

GENERAL EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license and a vehicle to get to job site or office is required.
• Carpenter tool belt with - Hammer, Nail puller, 25’-35' tape measure, 7” Square, Utility knife, Chalk box, Nail set. *Not required at the beginning of employment*
• Tool belt is to be worn at all times, except when hauling materials.
• Maintaining a neat appearance and being respectful towards customers, subcontractors & other workers.
• Use of PPE is required. We provide safety glasses, harnesses, etc.
