Draslovka is Hiring a GLT Laboratory Technical Support Metallurgist Near Perth, ND

Purpose

The primary purpose of the GLT Laboratory Technical Support Metallurgist is to oversee the technical aspects of projects conducted in the laboratory or onsite for the Organisation. They provide the conditions and are responsible for engaging with clients, including attending client meetings and answering technical questions.

Role Accountabilities

The GLT Laboratory Technical Support Metallurgist reports directly to the Global GLT Metallurgy Manager and works within the designated region in the Mining and Process Solutions business in Perth, Australia.

Critical Relationships

Strong and productive relationships with:

  • GLT Technologist - Laboratory.
  • GLT Principal Metallurgical Engineer- Laboratory

Key Responsibilities

Research and Development:

  • Perform scientific research and report on findings to further understanding, determine usefulness of complimentary processes and evaluate new opportunities for commercialization.
  • Ensure that all research activities are undertaken correctly and safely.
  • Close out test work by collating all data, assays, and technical notes.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit written and oral reports on research findings.
  • Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of technical reports before delivering to the relevant clients.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Engage with clients, answers technical questions and presents findings as required.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor expenses, ensuring expenditure is within approved budgets and Delegation of Authority (DOA).

Required qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • An MPhil or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering would be desirable.

Required skills and knowledge:

  • An understanding of the scientific rigor required to undertake investigation and understand the chemistry, procedures, undertake testing and write up and/or present findings.
  • Awareness of current technologies and scientific endeavors within hydrometallurgy.

Required experience:

  • 5 – 10 years’ relevant laboratory and site experience, preferably in gold.

Other requirements:

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen with the ability to work in Australia.
  • Ability to work autonomously and must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
