Overview:

We are seeking a full time FedEx BC - Operations Manager in the Tampa, FL area. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of package delivery services in a singular FedEx Ground terminal.

The right candidate will be adaptable with a strong work ethic, confidence, ownership mentality and excellent communication skills. Being hands-on and driving routinely is a must.

This Operations Manager will lead a team of drivers through up to 10 routes daily within the Tampa Terminal.

Candidates must have the ability to perform routine administrative tasks to comply with the needs of the business regarding fleet maintenance, route planning, compliance & other reporting.

Previous FedEx/UPS/Amazon experience with at least one peak season is strongly preferred. This is not a Monday-Friday 9am-5pm position. It will require some long-hour days and occasional Saturday/Sunday work, but it will also be flexible with your schedule when circumstances allow it.

Compensation Benefits

• Salary - 62,400 - 78,000 dependent on experience
• Performance-based bonuses on top of salary
• Vacation pay after 6 months

Responsibilities:

• Work to ensure all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and routes are generating sufficient revenue
• Drive for contingency as necessary
• Assist with recording and reporting timesheets for payroll
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding & training of new company drivers
• Collaborate with ownership and other management to complete delivery routes in DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization) system - experience preferred
• Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary breakdowns (mechanical knowledge is a plus)
• Work with peers to coordinate the training of every new driver to ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
• Ensure Driver compliance with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspections
• Create a culture of safety and ensure each driver is up to date on all safety training
• Communicate with FedEx Ground staff when necessary

Manager Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older (for insurance purposes)
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx)
• Physically willing, ready & able to drive a 26-ft bulk truck and/or a P-1000 sized vehicle and safely deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipients
• Previous FedEx experience strongly preferred - experience with UPS or Amazon is a plus
