Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly qualified engineer in the area of real-time safety-critical embedded software development. The candidate will support Draper in the development of next-generation resilient and fault tolerant software solutions. The candidate should have experience in developing application-level and platform-level software with a focus on guaranteed-availability and performance in resource constrained systems. Prior experience in developing avionics systems is a must. The candidate will support Draper's efforts in the development of mission-critical embedded system software for various industries.

The candidates activities will include full lifecycle software engineering, including requirements analysis, architectural & functional design, implementation, test, and integration of embedded software systems. The candidate should be familiar with developing in an agile environment with a test as you go attitude. He/she must be able to work closely with senior & junior hardware and software engineers as part of an integrated team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    M.S. or B.S. in Software Engineering or equivalent and 6 years of professional experience.
  • Experience developing real-time systems using C, C and assembly language is required.
  • Past design experience with UML/SysML
  • Knowledge of compilers, make files and linker scripts is required
  • Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Sound development and integration skills are required,
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in any of the following operating systems: VxWorks, GHS Integrity, FreeRTOS
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools for version control, static and dynamic analysis and continuous integration is a plus
  • Skills in fault-tolerance via redundancy management, Military, NASA and FAA design assurance standards experience strongly desired.
