We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Remote Graphic Designer to join our collaborative team. Having successfully pivoted to virtual offerings during the pandemic, we are now in the process of rebuilding our in-person business and striving to return to pre-COVID revenue levels. Dragonfly Designs offers Mobile Art Entertainment for celebrations and engaging team events, Afterschool Art Classes, School Break Art Camps, and DIY Kits. We remain committed to creating memorable experiences and are proud to have maintained a 5-star rating for the past 19 years. Position Overview:

We are a small but mighty team, dedicated to nurturing creativity and providing exceptional artistic creative opportunities. We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Graphic Designer with illustration skills to join our team as our existing designer transitions out of her role. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to make a significant impact on a small, woman-owned art business navigating the challenges of rebuilding after the pandemic. We’re seeking a results-driven, collaborative doer to join us on our mission to turn things around and drive revenue through strategic marketing efforts. This part-time remote role offers flexibility for the right candidate—someone passionate about art, adept at managing projects on a budget, and experienced in reinvigorating local business presences. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the company’s visual identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and materials.
  • Create visually appealing and engaging designs for various digital and print materials, including marketing collateral, social media assets, and educational resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Conceptualize and execute innovative design ideas that enhance the overall brand presence.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to produce effective and compelling visuals for campaigns and promotions.
  • Ensure adherence to brand guidelines and provide guidance to team members on design-related matters.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate modern design techniques into projects.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Use design software beyond basic tools, demonstrating proficiency in professional design applications.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the company’s visual language and brand strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse design projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Experience creating and maintaining brand guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of current design trends and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.

Application Process:

Upon receiving applications for the Graphic Designer position, selected candidates will be invited to participate in a group informational interview. During this session, the owner of the company will provide a brief overview of the company’s history, values, and goals. Common questions about the role and expectations will be addressed, and candidates will have the opportunity for a group Q&A.

Group Informational Interview:

  • Introduction to Company History: The owner will share insights into the company’s journey, mission, and vision, providing candidates with a comprehensive understanding of the organization.
  • Addressing Common Questions: The session will include a segment where common questions about the Graphic Designer role, company culture, and expectations will be addressed, ensuring candidates have clarity on key aspects.
  • Group Q&A: Candidates will have the chance to ask questions in a group setting. This interactive session aims to facilitate open communication and allow candidates to gather additional insights into the company and the role.

Following the group informational interview, candidates who remain interested in the position will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the hiring process.

Test Project:

Candidates will be given a test project that aligns with the company’s style and brand aesthetic. This project serves as an opportunity for candidates to showcase their skills and creativity in a practical setting. It will also allow the hiring team to assess how well candidates can translate the company’s vision into their design work.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be evaluated based on their performance on the test project.
