Plant Contract Inspector

Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Plant Contract Inspector to ensure the quality and safety of outside plant installations in the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, physical capability, and a commitment to safety practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct inspections of outside plant installations to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
• Evaluate contractor workmanship and adherence to specifications during installation and maintenance activities.
• Document inspection findings accurately and thoroughly, including any deviations or deficiencies observed.
• Communicate effectively with contractors and internal teams to address issues and facilitate corrective actions.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks of accidents and injuries in the workplace.
• Perform physical tasks associated with the inspection process, including lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the company positively while interacting with contractors and other stakeholders.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements based on inspection observations and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of telephone outside plant environment, including fiber optic and copper cable installations.
• Commitment to practicing safe working practices and promoting a culture of safety.
• Possession of a reliable vehicle in good working order for transportation to inspection sites.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the application process.
• Previous experience as a retired AT&T or BellSouth employee or contractor, with familiarity with company standards and procedures. (Preferred)
