Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our team. The Dental Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, managing phone systems, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a medical or dental office setting and possess excellent communication skills.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems in Open Dental or similar dental management software.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing inquiries
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Receptionist preferred
- Proficient in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling systems such as Open Dental, or eClinicalWorks is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
