Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction methods and materials. This role is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to identify potential challenges and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to clients, explaining assumptions and methodologies used in the estimation process.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers and construction teams to monitor project costs and provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Continuously update and refine estimating procedures and databases to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a minimum of 5 years in the industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex documents and drawings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with clients and subcontractors.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to find cost-effective solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
