Summary
DPS Group is seeking a Project Manager Responsible for the full life cycle of Project Management from inception to close-out. Provide constant interaction with Owner/Client representatives, Site Maintenance and Operations personnel, Engineering/Architect and Construction Management team members as required.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the full life cycle of Project Management from inception to close-out. Provide constant interaction with Owner/Client representatives, Site Maintenance and Operations personnel, Engineering/Architect and Construction Management team members as required.
  • Review Meetings at the Site to discuss and review the Projects.
  • Preparation of Meeting Minutes and Action Lists as required.
  • Review of the User Requirements and Basis of Design as required.
  • Preparation of an Overall Scope of Work for the Project identifying major tasks and responsibilities.
  • Review of the initial Project Schedule.
  • Review and input of Design Concepts, Design Details, and Construction Details.
  • Oversight and Review of the Design Process.
  • Meetings with the various Vendors/Contractors at the site to discuss the Drawings, Basis of Design, Scope of Work and Description for each applicable task.
  • Receipt, review, and organization of Contractor/Vendor Quotes, and the preparation of a Project Budget. It is assumed at this point that Celgene will hire all the Contractors/Vendors directly and pay any required fees.
  • Processing of Equipment Request Forms (ERF’s)
  • Generation of User Requirement Briefs (URBs)
  • Leads the scheduling, planning, control and effective coordination of all the parallel activities related to each project and maintains project schedule through minimal unanticipated schedule challenges.
  • Assures that the project is compliant with all applicable safety, regulatory, legal requirements.
  • Achieves high customer satisfaction by delivering finished projects that are fully commissioned, qualified and ready for startup/occupancy and meets all requirements of stakeholders and stays within a predetermined schedule.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong pharmaceutical project management skills and proven experience in having managed projects with emphasis on Cell Therapy and/or Biologics clinical and/or commercial manufacturing and development laboratories in a cGMP environment.
  • Understanding of GMP, regulatory, environmental, and OSHA regulations as it relates to Engineering, Facilities Operations and Construction.
  • Understanding of financial management as it relates to capital and expense spending and project cash flow forecasting.
  • Pro-active in solving challenging project issues with the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Experience in total project delivery in a cGMP environment (from concept to validation and startup process). Leads the development of the capital project scope and objectives in support of the business strategy dealing with clients and stakeholders.
  • Exhibits project leadership and effective decision making throughout each project. Leads and promotes effective teamwork by engaging both Facilities as well as including key clients and stakeholders.
  • Possesses broad knowledge of the functional requirements of pharmaceutical facilities and engineering best practices, while ensuring that appropriate internal and external resources are incorporated into the project and execution.
  • Understanding of construction terminology and legal content of contracts and documents.
  • 5 years’ experience managing pharmaceutical projects, especially with Cell Therapy or Biologics Manufacturing Facilities & Labs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred in Chemical or Mechanical). EIT/PE License a plus.
  • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.

  • Mathematical Ability - Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability - Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
