DPI Labs is the parent company of Sowing Seeds for Life. This position works for Sowing Seeds. Sowing Seeds for Life offers drive-thru pantry distribution to people from more than sixteen (16) cities across eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties. This position coordinates the teams of volunteers for food distributions and the actual receipt of food and supply deliveries.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Recruit, interact, train and schedule individuals and teams of people to volunteer at food distributions.
• Collect and count at the outdoor pantry twice a month.
• Work with volunteers, customers, and schools.
• Assist with logistics and warehousing (oversee deliveries and inventory as needed).
• Maintain volunteer database and follow up communications.
• Update weekly food connect documents for the FB and Facebook page.
• Conduct pantry tours with groups.
• Assist executive director with correspondence, documentation, and inventory control.
• Look for ways to improve and promote quality.
• Return calls from customers, vendors, and community.
• Help with community events such as campus fairs.
• Operate a forklift.

Working Hours:

Guaranteed 16 hours per week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional hours may be available at DPI Labs on Monday, Thursday and Friday depending on skill level.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Possess a forklift license or be willing to be certified to operate a forklift and use pallet jacks (once training is completed).

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing English. Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must maintain driver's license and car insurance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Willing to work outdoors in addition to an office environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without harming oneself.
• This position requires bending, stooping, lifting, pulling, reaching, kneeling, standing, and sitting for periods of time.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
