PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, and maintaining of all mechanical equipment such as: air handlers, compressors, generators, chillers, steam boilers and medical gas equipment. Also to provide utilities such as: lighting, heating, cooling, power for refrigeration, and to make emergency maintenance repairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Monitors the Facilities HVAC systems
2. Performs daily work requests and monthly preventative maintenance repairs on
various equipment
3. Works in conjunction with other Associates in the Department to complete various tasks
4. Removes snow and ice as needed
5. Performs other duties as assigned by Department Managers
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or Vocational School Graduate
Experience:
Min. 3- 5 years experience in a power plant setting handling boilers,
chillers, pumps
General maintenance tasks i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry
Knowledge of state and local codes and ordinances.
Knowledge of computers.
State boiler license preferred but not required
Other Skills:
Valid driver's license
Ability to be a Team Player
Ability to work independently
Ability to read blueprints and work from same
Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively
Training time required once hired:
8 hours orientation; 120 hours on the job training
