Location: Wilmington, NCThe salary will be based on experience and technical interview Role Summary / PurposeThe Systems Engineer will be a member of the BWRX-300 Engineering team and be responsible for interfaces with multiple internal team members and Engineering disciplines, Business Managers and Project Engineers. In this role you will be accountable for meeting functional, business, and broad company objectives in support of the BWRX-300 conceptual design. The Systems Engineer will be challenged with complex technical issues in a dynamic project and team environment. Essential Responsibilities
Provide misc. technical support as directed by the Manager and associated Technical Leads in the development of the Mechanical Nuclear Island systems.
Apply engineering knowledge and practical experience to the analysis, investigation, and solution of complex design problems and application issues as assigned.
Develop drawings and specifications to assure products can reliably meet all engineering and quality requirements.
Develop process flow diagrams and perform thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer analyses for process flow calculations for reactor plants systems and components.
Professionally respond to customer information requests, emergent issues, and audits.
Support GEH quality requirements defined in policies and procedures.
Interface with design partners and customers as needed to advance and review system design activities.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related area from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8 years of experience working with Nuclear Plant Safety Systems and Components.
Additional Desired Characteristics
In-depth knowledge of major reactor systems and their operation.
Proven technical skills within project management environment.
Proven oral / written communication and teamwork skills.
Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Systems experience, Professional Engineering License, or Advanced Degree from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrated ability to perform while challenged by multiple demands and changing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including customer interface experience.
Experience with design, evaluation, and operation of nuclear power plant components.
