DownUnder GeoSolutions is Hiring a Geoscience Team Leader - Land Near Houston, TX

DUG’s Geoscience Team Leader are competent and high-performing seismic data processors and/or depth imaging specialists with a solid technical understanding of their geophysical discipline.

Geoscience Team Leader is expected to deliver the highest quality products to both internal stakeholders and external clients, with minimal supervisor management. They will be responsible for executing and managing their processing/imaging projects, contributing to QA / QC of project work, and helping supervise junior staff in their team.

List of Responsibilities (not necessarily exhaustive):

  • Manage the delivery of high quality services projects to DUG’s clients including:
  • Providing primary client liaison for the team’s allocated geoscience project work.
  • Managing and supervising all allocated geoscience project work.
  • Ensuring defined objectives for geoscience project work; quality and turnaround, are satisfied.
  • Allocation of staff and cluster resources to achieve optimum outcomes.
  • Promotion of effective communication between DUG staff and project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient implementation of project workflows, including the attendant QA and QC procedures.
  • Sharing DUG best practice processes with team members.
  • Promoting the professional development of team members.
  • Liaise with respective services Principals for team’s technical support as and when required.
  • Seismic time processing and depth imaging; involving
  • The design of processing flows, selection and testing of processing parameters, velocity interpretation and model building.
  • Preparing, running and managing production processing work flows on the company computer system and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Production of regular project reports and presentations.
  • Regular participation in client project meetings, and communication with clients throughout active projects to monitor client satisfaction with DUG.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • BSc/ MSc or PhD in Geophysics or other applied science fields (e.g. physics, mathematics, electrical engineering).
  • At least 8 years of industry experience in managing end-to-end Land Seismic Processing projects (both Time and Depth Imaging).
  • Highly technical with excellent project management skills.
  • Strong problem solver and ability to lead, motivate, and coach junior geophysicists.
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction and motivation to staff.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with the team to set priorities and work to deadlines.
