Downtown Sheridan Association is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to preserve, enhance, and promote the historic downtown area to ensure its future prosperity. Serving as the heartbeat of the community, downtown Sheridan brings people together to enjoy the convenience and friendliness of hometown businesses, local services, specialty, and convenience shopping, as well as unique recreational and cultural activities. Key Responsibilities of the Marketing and Events Coordinator:
Communication and Outreach:
· Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the organization and its mission.
· Collaborate with local media to ensure maximum coverage of DSA events and fundraisers.
· Assist in organizing and promoting fundraising events and campaigns.
· Create media releases and manage social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Constant Contact, and the DSA website.
Public Relations:
· Support the Executive Director in developing and conducting public awareness and education programs to enhance appreciation of downtown's assets.
· Utilize speaking engagements, media interviews, and personal appearances to promote DSA's goals and objectives.
Event Coordination:
· Coordinate and execute DSA fundraisers and community events as directed by the Executive Director and Committee Chairpersons.
· Manage logistics for events such as Goose Creek Polo Cup, Annual Wine Festival, 3rd Thursday Street Festival, and First People’s POW WOW.
· Collaborate with committee chairs to facilitate effective volunteer management, assigning tasks and ensuring that volunteers are adequately prepared and supported through various events.
Promotions and Committees:
· Coordinate promotional activities, including Crazy Days, Holiday Shopping Spree, and Shop Small Business Saturday.
· Work with the Executive Director to develop creative and effective promotional strategies.
· Regularly update and communicate with Committee Chairpersons on important activities, events, and initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in event coordination, marketing, or related roles.
· Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities to manage multiple events simultaneously.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva, and WordPress.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
