POSITION SUMMARY

F&B Porters are part of the critical foundation of our bar operation. For our business to function properly, we require our Porters to work incredibly hard and be in constant communication with all Team Members. For our business to function properly, we require our Porters to excel in a fast-paced environment, have great Guest service, and be able to locate and clean soiled areas quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and personable.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)

  • When applicable, place safety hazard signs in the building including wet floor warning signs. 
  • Monitor, surface clean, deep clean and service restrooms.
  • Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises. 
  • Remove litter and rubbish from main public area.
  • Clean all floor mats. 
  • Service first focus in effectively communicating with guests, and team members.
  • Assist with receiving and disposition of orders from vendors and warehouses.
  • Pick up trash from bars and dispose of properly. 
  • Scrub walls and trash cans. 
  • Break down corrugated cardboard boxes for recycling.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in FOH areas, as necessary. 
  • Utilize proper cleaning chemicals for designated cleaning and sanitization. 
  • Clean carpet, all floors, upholstery, tabletops, windows, mirrors, chair legs and table bases. 
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Strictly abide by any state sanitation/health regulations and property requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. 
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested. 
  • Clean up biohazards according to proper procedures.
  • Clean removable marks, dirt, and dust from baseboards. 
  • Clean and remove all graffiti located around property.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of supply/storage closets.
  • Re-clean items and/or areas not meeting standards. 
  • Handle all wares carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
  • Monitors usage of chemicals to maximize consumption.
  • Responsible for the security and timely return of all assigned keys.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to:

  • Withstand prolonged walking, standing, bending, pushing, climbing, and kneeling. 
  • Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as excessive noise, seasonal heat and cold, hard to reach and unclean work areas, cigarette smoke, and hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to carts, vacuums, pressure washers and all other cleaning equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent Guest service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and a variety of shifts.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and upkeep any required work cards (Health/Sheriff’s/TAM Cards).

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department. 
  • Attend required training sessions offered by DTP.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages. 
  • Consult Standard Operating Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
