What is a Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer?Lean/ Six Sigma Leader responsible for cultivating the Lean/Six Sigma environment at manufacturing and service business units. The Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer must facilitate, participate in, and drive Lean & Six Sigma projects, Continuous Improvement activities and Kaizen events based on external and internal non-conformances. “Hands-On” is a must while investigating, analyzing, reporting, coaching & teaching Lean principles.
In this role, you will:
·Analyze continuously data coming from internal or external non-conformances to ensure root causes are effectively identified and corrective plan are designed and executed
·Investigate, experiment, and implement processes to maximize productivity
·Provide tactical coaching on Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques (Six Sigma)
·Provides Operations Team with technical and engineering support to improve processes that will lead to increased QHSE performance
·Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement by actively managing projects to improve overall quality
·Proactive problem solving on the basis statistical analysis of corrective actions.
·Acting according to the QHSE guidelines
·Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements
Required and Preferred Abilities:
·Teach and apply Lean and Six Sigma tools
·Communicate to all levels of staff members
·Demonstrate strong project management skills
·Transcribe informal conversations into formal business process documentation
·Recognize gaps in documentation and processes and apply formal problem-solving techniques to achieve resolution
·Identify root-causes and offer objective resolutions to all levels of the organization
·Work independently as well as in a team
·Execute and deliver results across a broad range of activities
·Deal with time constraints, simultaneous tasks, deadlines, and unexpected requirements from external parties
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
·During root cause analysis and project management, there could be exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, noise level in the work environment can be loud
·Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
·Travel to internal facilities located in our geography may be sporadically required to promote root cause analysis and develop specific projects
Education and Experience:
·Technical based bachelor's degree (Industrial, mechanical, or electronic engineering preferred)
·Industry recognized certification in Lean Manufacturing
·Statistical analysis and computer background required
·Industry recognized certification in Six Sigma methodology (Black Belt preferred)
