Central Scheduling is responsible to assist with all Patient Access functions and scheduling patients for ancillary testing appointments in the Radiology, Respiratory and Dietary. The representative is often the first contact ordering providers have with Calais Community Hospital and therefore it is essential that the representative have excellent customer service skills and effective written and oral communication skills. The representative is responsible for informing patients and ordering providers about test preparations, special instructions, and pre-certification requirements required prior to testing/treatment. The representative must be aware of medical necessity requirements and communicate with ordering providers regarding any ordered tests that do not meet medical necessity. Manages and files faxed orders for the rendering departments. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivilant
• Medical office experience with medical terminology course completion, preferred.
• Must have good telephone skills and significant experience with computer systems.
• CPSI experience, preferred.
