Description
Performs in addition to the roles as a mammographer/technologist, supervisory functions as indicated. Works directly with the chief radiologist and imaging manager/director to ensure efficient, quality and continuity of patient care.
Required indicators/functions:
Provides the highest level of professional and patient-centered ethical practices and care in the performance of mammography examinations and program oversight in accordance with, and as outlined by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Down East Community Hospital (DECH) Policy and Standard Operating and Procedure (SOAP).
Provides proper patient positioning, required anatomy and diagnostic quality technique for optimal imaging. Effective communicator with patients, referring physicians, subordinates, supervisors, radiologists, and other health care team members. Maintains and assigns a consistent and effective workflow in a positive manner. Demonstrates strong knowledge of DECH’s regulations with regards to infection control, safety (disaster, fire, and community response relief as directed), hospital codes and attends required meetings as directed. Adheres to the Privacy Act of 1974 and upholds all Health Insurance and Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) standards as it pertains to patient information management, and the State of Maine’s patient privacy regulations.
Works collectively with DECH Promotions Resources (PR) Coordinator for community women’s services.

Requirements
7 – 10 years’ experience as a Registered Technologist, Radiographer (R), mammographer (M), and is
in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), R.T.(R)(M)).
