Job Overview:
Are you considering a career in the legal field and looking to gain experience? We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to temporarily join our team in Lincoln, NE. No experience needed, we will train the right individual. The Legal Assistant will provide support to our legal team by performing various administrative tasks and assisting with document management and client communication.

Responsibilities:
- Collect, record and distribute daily mail
- Answer phone calls
- Greet and assist walk in clients
- Transcribe dictations with various tasks from attorneys
- Create, organize and maintain files and documents
- Coordinate and schedule meetings
- Prepare correspondence, records requests and other written materials
- Conduct new client intakes
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements:
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capability of multitasking and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Possess self-motivation and willingness to work hard
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Initiate distribution of additional tasks during down time

Note: this is a temporary position from approximately June through October. The exact start date is flexible. The following are the set hours for this position: Monday: 9am-5pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8am-4pm; and Friday: 7am-3pm.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
