is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Dover, Delaware area. Dover Behavioral Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Dover Behavioral Health System. Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a front desk Receptionist to provide high quality service to internal and external customers. This position will report to the Director of the Access and Referral Center.

Essential duties include:
  • Answer and respond to incoming telephone calls promptly and in a pleasant, courteous and clear manner; Direct calls to the appropriate party
  • Represent the hospital and deliver high quality customer service to visitors in the lobby
  • Provide and collect registration paperwork and conduct quality checks every 15 minutes for all potential patients
  • Prepare families for visitation including tagging belongings, verifying identification, screening visitors for contraband, etc.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge for the hospital’s emergency code procedures and intercom codes when necessary
  • Import patient registration data into access AS400 system and verify Medicaid coverage on DMAP.
  • Provide routine hospital-related information to callers and visitors; forward any requests that require clinical or more detailed information to the appropriate party
  • Collect and deliver incoming mail, including courier services
  • Maintain reception materials to include registration documents, sign in books; make copies as needed
  • Manage the reception cash box by performing a reconciliation at beginning and end of shift, selling meal tickets, and documenting cash transactions
  • Provide clerical support to other departments as needed

Thursday - Sunday 3pm - 11:30 pm
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Preferred:

  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting (strongly preferred)

UHS benefits are available to employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week. Coverage is effective on day 31 of employment. Eligibility for employees who are scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week varies by location.
