APPLICATION PROCESS: 

• A Memo of Intent (MOI) in DCSO memo format, addressing how the applicant meets or exceeds all posting qualifications. The MOI should be addressed to Captain Jason Kennedy and thru the applicant’s COC.
• An Outlook Email with the MOI attached as a PDF. This email is addressed to the applicant’s COC up to Captain and Cc’d to Captain Jason Kennedy and Professional Standards (ProfStandards@dcsheriff.net).
• Complete the application in Talent Center. Upload PDF of MOI as an attachment.
• Hard copy of MOI/Resume are no longer required.

SELECTION PROCESS (Proctored by amember of Professional Standards):

• COC Review: When the applicant’s COC receives the candidate’s email with the attached MOI, the applicant’s direct supervisor will: Email a response to RESPOND ALL whether or not the applicant meets the minimum requirements to participate in the process or feedback on the submitted waiver for consideration memo. (Pass/Fail)
• File Review: Completed by Professional Standards to verify qualifications (Pass/Fail)..
• Psychological Assessment: Upon a conditional acceptance to the S.W.A.T. Team, each candidate must pass a psychological assessment.
• Physical Test/Assessment Exercise/Interview Panel: The test will begin at Highland Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. (see ** below for recommended equipment)
  Physical Fitness assessment.
• Firearms proficiency evaluation. 
  Candidates passing the physical fitness and firearms assessment will be invited to the interview panel. 
• Interview Panel: The Interview Panel will be given each applicant’s MOI. These will be used by the members of the Interview Panel to acquaint themselves with the applicant’s quality of work and experience. The Interview Panel will ask questions related to the open position and these will be scored. Final scores are to be calculated by a member of the Professional Standards Division. A minimum score of 70% is required to be considered for an eligibility list. 
  Command Review: Captain Kennedy will be provided a list of successful candidate scores to establish an eligibility list. 

**The following equipment will beneeded to complete the test: Tactical utility pant (such as 5.11pant) orequivalent, duty boots, duty belt, personal body armor, ballistic helmet (ifissued), and duty pistol and patrol rifle with 3 magazines for each weaponsystem. Ammunition will be provided. 
The fitness assessment may becompleted in athletic clothing t-shirt, shorts, sweats, the footwear of yourchoice.
