The Community Response Team (CRT) is a crisis interventionprogram that serves Douglas County and provides an emergency response toindividuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance use disorder crisisin the community. The Community Response Team clinician operates as a Co-Responderteam member with law enforcement, riding 40 - hours/week with an assigned lawenforcement partner in a police vehicle. This is a crisis position, workingalongside law enforcement and a resource specialist providing emergencyresponse to individuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance use disordercrisis in community or school settings.
Generally, the hiring range is $64,424-$80,530 annually. Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary.

Additional day, evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involves identifying, assessing, stabilizing, and safety planning with individual and families with the goal of reducing imminent risk and increasing coping skills and functioning.
  • Works alongside law enforcement, treatment providers and other partners as members of a multi-disciplinary team devoted to linking individuals and families to the appropriate treatment.
  • Ideally the clinicians assist in diverting individuals from emergency departments, jails and maintaining individuals in their home and communities.
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations, using evidence-based tools, for individuals experiencing an acute psychiatric emergency in various community settings.
  • Develop effective safety/crisis intervention plans that are client-centered and support strong therapeutic partnerships with clients and families.
  • Coordinate immediate placement and follow-up services with community providers using the strength-based, Wrap-Around philosophy.
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team as well as develop and maintain effective relationships with other community professionals.
  • Provide care/support to families that demonstrates cultural awareness and respect of their cultural beliefs, customs, and norms.
  • Refer individuals and families to resource specialist services which provide coordination with other agencies and service providers to meet SDoH needs.
  • Document in Julota all assessments completed, interactions with individuals and families, and any other pertinent information or information required in the CRT process.
  • Attend team meetings as scheduled.
  • Regularly meet with the CRT clinical supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISIONRECEIVED: Under general and routine supervision of the CRT ClinicalSupervisor, the employee receives clinical guidance and supervision whileoperating with a high degree of independence during day-to-day assignments as aco-responder. Work is reviewed foradherence to professional standards, instructions, accuracy, completeness, andconformance to best practices in co-response and crisis intervention.
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory authority.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: Work is highly independent under the guidance of a clinicalsupervisor. Worker chooses courses ofaction in consultation with supervisor and others as appropriate. Incumbent has wide range to use individualjudgment in selecting the proper means to achieve the desired results. The worker impacts the community interest bypreventing unnecessary emergency department visits, incarceration in partnershipwith LE partner and institutionalization unless necessary, preventing harm toclient's physical or emotional status, and strengthening the family systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social workrequired.
  • Must be licensed or pending licensure with supervision (LPC,LMFT, LCSW).
  • At least 2 year of treatment experience in a mental healthsetting.
  • Must have crisis experience.
  • Experience with military and/or law enforcement is a plus.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Must be aware of clinical best practices and the requirementsto hold licensure in the state of Colorado.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships withcounty employees, law enforcement and community partners.
  • Understand Colorado Mental Health related legislation and CRToperational policy and procedure.
  • Ability to perform the duties of a crisis clinician inpartnership with law enforcement and understand and uphold the responsibilitiesof the clinical role.

CERTIFICATIONS,LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be licensed or supervised pending licensure (LPC, LMFT,LCSW).
  • Mustpossess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, with complying insurance.Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodicallythroughout employment.
  • Thisposition requires successful completion of a criminal background checkincluding fingerprinting through a national database.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Essential workenvironment is in a police vehicle during 4 – 10 hour per day shifts.
  • Some meetings for casestaffings, training and other relevant meetings.
  • Contact with Douglas County community members/clients under awide variety of circumstances, including unpredictable situations.
  • Pressure to respond to multiple calls and inquires.
  • Subject to schedule changes based on the needs of the program.
