Douglas-A-Thom Clinic is Hiring a RCP Coordinator (Regional Consultation Program) Near Springfield, MA

 

Job Description

Thom Springfield Regional Consultation Program (RCP) is committed to ensuring that families who have a child with complex needs receive the support they need. RCPs offer family support programming, respite, consultation, resource and referral support, training, and community-wide capacity building. 

Eligible children must be enrolled in a certified Early Intervention Program and meet one or more of the following criteria: the child has extensive medical and/or healthcare needs, complex care needs, or multiple disabilities.

The Thom Springfield RCP Coordinator reports to the Program Director of Thom Springfield Early Intervention Program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with not less than three years of experience working with children and families
  • Experience working with individuals with multiple disabilities and complex care needs and their families
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts Early Intervention philosophy and operational standards
  • Experience with resource and referral work
  • Ability to work competently in a culturally diverse environment
  • Skills in developing adult training programs and knowledge of adult learning styles
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Job Elements:

  • Identify state and local resources available to families and providers
  • Assist families to enroll in respite services and obtain adaptive equipment or other supports as needed
  • Provide support to family members and providers through trainings, resources, and referrals
  • Lead a family support group for families in the Regional Consultation Program
  • Provide support to Early Intervention Programs, preschools, and other early education and care providers to raise community awareness and capacity to care for children with multiple disabilities
  • Collaborate with the other RCP program coordinators, Early Intervention Programs, Massachusetts Departments of Public Health and Early Education and Care and other community partners
  • Provide consultation to local families and Early Intervention Programs around the development of IFSPs that enhance therapeutic approaches and promote inclusion of children in natural environments
  • Plan family events/outings for families enrolled in the program
  • Provide regular written reports to Thom’s Board of Directors and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health detailing quarterly service delivery
  • Track program invoices and billing and compile monthly reports in an organized manner
