Description

DoubleLine, an investment management firm and registered investment advisor, based in downtown Los Angeles, is seeking Graduate Interns for Spring/Summer of 2024. The Graduate interns will support the investment decision-making process through the analysis, recommendation, and monitoring of asset classes.

Job Functions

• Support Analysts on fundamental credit analysis and assessment of relative value within assigned industries to identify attractive primary and secondary investments
• Analyze asset historic returns and valuation, and run backtests and optimizations of trading strategies
• Support Analysts by creating and maintaining financial models and credit memos, actively engage with sell-side and buy-side market participants, and conduct diligence calls with management teams and expert consultants
• Build valuation and risk tools across different assets and perform asset allocation and portfolio construction studies
• Develop and maintain advanced analytical solutions to scrutinize large data sets
• Prepare reports for internal portfolio management in a timely manner
• Participate in weekly investment team discussions and ultimately present market analysis and investment recommendations

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a MBA, MFE or graduate program; CFA designation is a plus
• Strong interest and preferred prior experience in fixed income, finance, portfolio optimization or asset allocation techniques
• Strong research skills with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong programming skills (e.g. R, MATLAB or Rython) and numerical problem solving techniques
• Strong formal training in Econometrics and solid experience working with large datasets/databases
• Familiarity with third-party data providers (e.g. Bloomberg and Haver)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to present ideas effectively and clearly

Hourly Rate of Pay: The rate of pay for this position is $30 per hour, with eligibility for overtime pay.
