General Description: Ensures that all equipment is running up to standard pounds and that the materials produced are within specifications at the lowest cost possible.

Reports to: Plant Manager.

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee training programs for all current and new employees in the areas of new employee orientation, safety practices, and skills.
• Meet production requirements according to schedule.
• Meet daily with off going and oncoming supervisors/leads to ensure priorities are met. 
• Plan and coordinate the distribution of labor, adjusting work assignments.
• Responsible for daily labor efficiencies, downtime, and meeting resin specifications.
• Verify silo readings, hook up hoses, and verify against paperwork to ensure it is transferred correctly.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Directly oversee employees in the Production Department. 
• Oversee employee time and attendance. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Education Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree and minimum two years related experience. 

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as a safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing Microsoft Office software.
