The Cherries provides residential care for children and young people, aged 9 to18, who have complex learning disabilities and behaviours which can be challenging. We are currently rated as a 'Good' service by Ofsted. We welcome applications from motivated, creative and resilient individuals who can contribute to successful outcomes and have the passion and drive to achieve an outstanding service for our children and young people. Experience isnt necessarily required, but the right commitment and determination is.

Your role will involve meeting individual needs and keeping children safe. Duties include supporting children with personal care, daily activities and independent living skills. You will promote children's rights, choices, social, emotional and health needs, and assist with the planning and participation of activities, trips and holidays.

Working in partnership with families, Social Workers, schools, and health professionals, you will contribute to the development of individual care and support plans and personal goals, promoting effective communication and team work to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Hours and posts vary, with the majority of posts being based on working set shifts across a 3-week rolling rota. Shifts include weekend and bank holiday working where rostered.

We will provide excellent supervision, training opportunities and support. This position provides the opportunity for career development and pay progression towards the achievement of level 2 RCCW (pay grade 8). Where required you will be supported to complete a Level 3 child care qualification. You will be required to attend all mandatory training to support your role and responsibilities.

You will be motivated, enthusiastic and keen to promote children's social, emotional and physical wellbeing and able to support children to develop their resilience and independence skills.

Having an understanding of children's developmental needs, and previous experience of working in a care related setting, would be helpful although not essential as we will provide appropriate support, induction and training. This role requires effective teamwork and multi-agency partnership working.

You will need the ability to reflect on your practice and identify your learning and development needs to promote quality care and positive outcomes for our children and young people.

Where required you will be supported to complete a Level 3 child care qualification. You will be required to attend all mandatory training to support your role and responsibilities.
