Caregiving position: Client has late stage dementia and diabetes. This is not just companionship, but involves constant personal care during waking hours, following her schedule of activities, and shadowing during waking hours. This is a one day a week live in, NOT fulltime live in (24/7). This is work. Its not the hardest or the easiest job, but it involves involvement.
Possible days: .Mon. to Tues., or Tues to Wed, or Wed to Thurs, or Thurs to Fri, or Sat to Sun, or Sun to Mon.
3 meals during working hours is part of the compensation. If not happy with selection there, you are welcome to bring your own pre-cooked food. There is refrigerator space and a microwave for this. For safety reasons, we do not allow delivery for take out to the home.
Requirements:
* Reliable, responsible, compassionate mature person.
*Willing to care for an elderly woman for one 24 hour period per week, bi-weekly, or monthly (8:30 AM to 8:30 AM).( She sleeps and you can during the night).
*Actual caregiving hands on work hours are less than 12 on and more than 12 off, that goes from 830 AM one day to 8:30 AM the next, Can be one day per per week or month. She sleeps at night, and you can during the night), but must be rousable in case of an emergency).
*Shadowing and constant prompting for eating, drinking, bathroom during waking hours. She cannot execute anything independently due to dementia.
*This jobs requires full focus on the patient during her waking hours, therefore caregiver cannot be on cell phone during this time period. Dorothy's home number can be given to be reached in case of emergency only.
*Needs to follow Dorothy's structured schedule, including stimulating activities during the day.
* Must be able to follow instructions and directions, not altering her planned schedule, including meds. Empty Foley and rotate at 10 PM. Must be able to communicate well with Dorothy.
No certification is necessary. Training is provided.
*Have to have desire to learn and make a difference in a person's life.
*Background check is done.
*Cameras present on premises that are secure.
*Great experience and/or hours for pre- PA'S, pre-med, nursing students. Great resume experience, especially for those who would like to break into the medical field or move further up the ranks in the medical field.
*Non-smoking or vaping on premises due to oxygen and toxins on premise.
