We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. As a Data Engineer at Dorel Home, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data architecture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual to grow their skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Job FunctionsData Pipeline Development: Collaborate with senior data engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) of data from various sources.Data Modeling: Assist in designing and implementing data models to support business requirements and analytical needs.Data Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain data quality checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the data.Database Management: Contribute to the management and optimization of databases, ensuring high performance and availability.Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data processes, systems, and configurations.Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering. Actively seek opportunities for professional development.Light Data Analytics/Visualization: Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to create meaningful reports and KPIs within the confines of existing Visualization tools.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Design, develop and maintain BI reporting and analytic dashboards using data visualization technologies.Light database administration tasks.Experience and Necessary SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field desired.Strong understanding of database management systems, SQL, and data modeling concepts.Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, R).Experience with Agile Development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Jira, Bitbucket).Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar business tools.Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and techniques.Familiarity with Data Visualization technologies (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).Basic knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake) is a plus.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Company BenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurance, with flexible spending and HSA account options401(k) retirement planFlexible work hoursHybrid work environmentOpportunities for professional development and growthParental LeaveTuitution Reimbursement Program
