Job Description:

Are you a woodworking professional seeking an engaging leadership role? Door Renew is seeking a Refinish Technician / Shop Lead to oversee and assist in the restoration and finishing process of front doors for our valued customers. As the Refinish Technician / Shop Lead, you'll ensure quality control and timely production, ensuring every door meets our high standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers to understand their finishing and color preferences
• Skillfully disassemble door hardware and inspect doors for damage or rot
• Perform repairs, remove imperfections, and fill in cracks with meticulous attention to detail
• Apply finishing lubricants such as varnish, stains, or shellac, ensuring a flawless finish
• Oversee the team, ensuring brand standards and client preferences are met for door refinishing services
• Prioritize safety and well-being of team members and maintain shop organization
• Mentor apprentices and conduct ongoing training sessions for skill enhancement
• Collaborate closely with the general manager to set and achieve production goals

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certificate in Woodworking Technology (preferred)
• 3-5 years of prior woodworking experience
• Minimum of 1 year of management experience
• Excellent customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in staining and finishing techniques
• Advanced hand-eye coordination and design skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Hands-on experience with a variety of hand and power tools
