Job Summary

The Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between core business units and the Information Services Department to translate user requirements into high-level system specifications, develop and coordinate user testing, assist in training and implementation of new systems or system enhancements, document software systems at a highly technical level and reverse engineer specifications based on existing code.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Gather, analyze and document user needs and requirements and translate into systems specifications
• Assist in facilitating and formulating a solutions path
• Elicit the actual needs of the stakeholders and align the needs of the business units with the technological capabilities
• Analyze code to document existing systems and develop specifications for updates and future integrations
• Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
• Participate in project status meetings
• Coordinate and assist in all aspects of implementation including user training as well as producing user procedures and documentation
• Assist with Test Matrix setup
• Conduct post-implementation and routine proactive follow-up with business units to ensure a quality product and high level of functionality is achieved
• Provide technical guidance and support to business units and other IS staff to ensure the business goals and needs are met for the business units
• May assist in some project management responsibilities
• Assist in the troubleshooting of technical and functional issues with various business initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Systems or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of systems analyst or technical writing experience or equivalent educational skillset
• Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
• Previous development experience preferred
• Previous insurance related experience preferred
