Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club is Hiring an Events & Marketing Coordinator Near Champaign, IL

Position Overview
The Events and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of special events, including event logistics and marketing, and works with the Resource Development Team to develop and implement donor engagement activities that align with department objectives. The position reports directly to the Director of Development and will work closely with the Resource Development Team, Board of Directors, Individual Event Committees, and the Resource Development Committee to plan and coordinate special events that meet program and fundraising goals. This is an hourly, full-time, non-exempt position with excellent benefits.
Strategic Event Planning
Under the general guidance of the Director of Development, contribute to the planning and implementation of special events, working with club staff and volunteers to coordinate activities and facilitate communications
Work with Resource Development and individual event committees on the planning, coordination, and execution of special events to drive special event fundraising to steward new and existing donors
Negotiate with vendors and sponsors to obtain space and all related materials and resources to ensure event success
Provide on-site support at special events, acting as primary point-of-contact to ensure smooth execution
Evaluate success of special events, as determined by appropriate measures such as attendance, revenues generated, public relations activity, enrollment in club programs, etc.
Monitor expenses and revenue in connection with events to ensure budget compliance.
Resource Development
Contribute to attaining financial support by planning creative events that facilitate solicitation from target donor audiences
Support with identification and recruitment of event sponsors
Support donor acknowledgement process by entering donations and preparing letters and other associated materials
Supports with analysis of event giving and related development activities to identify opportunities
Marketing and Public Relations
Help increase public visibility of Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club and its services and activities by informing all media contacts and target audiences of scheduled special events.
Assists the Director of Development with preparation and distribution of press releases, community bulletins and Club newsletter regarding events and outcomes.
In coordination with the Resource Development Committee and Director of Development, develop, implement and manage Club social media strategy
Increase social media engagement across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and TikTok)
Develop and manage social media content (respond to comments, tags, messages, etc.)
Measure the success of each social media campaign using proven performance metrics and analytics as well as industry standards
Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
Additional Responsibilities
May be required to drive a Club vehicle
This position is expected to attend all fundraising special events, and may be required to attend programmatic special events. A flexible schedule is required.
Qualifications
A associate's degree or equivalent career experience, preferably in marketing, public relations, non-profit, hospitality or other related fields
Demonstrated skill in planning, organizing, promoting, implementing, and evaluating fundraising events
Ability to manage multiple task and projects while being attentive to details
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design programs (Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar), and CRM/donor management databases or systems; data entry experience a plus
Knowledge of web management and social media content creation
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to connect with donors and personalize relationships
Experience in developing organizational communications such as press releases, email marketing/newsletters, social media posts, etc.
