Product Manager 

Location: Fort Mill 

Reports to: Director, Product management 

Domtar’s Product Manager develops and executes product strategies and roadmapsthat align with the overall business objectives while delivering customer value. 

This role involves the day-to-day management of new and existing product lifecycle such as but not limited to: SKU assortment and performance analysis, product portfolio optimization, product packaging requirements analysis and introduction, fitness for use assessment,market/customerend-use requirements and impacts. 

This position works closely withmarketing, operations, finance, manufacturing, and technology team members to ensure continuity, quality, and product excellence while collaborating to meet company goals and objectives. 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

  • Developand execute product strategies and roadmaps that reflect the vision and organizational long-term objectives.
  • Manage product information, specifications, attributes, and overall fitness-for-use factors required for end-use performance.
  • Engage in market, customer, and consumer research and deliver insights and concepts to drive actionable organizational initiatives.
  • Utilize customer data and market landscape analytics to measure and improve the performance of product portfolios and SKU assortment.
  • Conduct competitive landscapeanalysis and utilize Voice of the Customer to stay current with relevant trends in the industry.
  • Cultivateand manage relations with OEMsto understand trends and conduct performance evaluations to ensure conformity with fitness for use.
  • Identify, articulate, and develop requirements for new products/SKUs and changes to existing ones based upon industry shifts, market trends, and end-use application analysis.
  • Plan, lead, and actively manage the process ofintroducing new products to the market while developing product strategies for profitable market share growth.
  • Operate in a culture of project management excellence focused on delivering stakeholder value, driving toward business objectives, developing robust business cases, achieving scheduled deadlines, and communicating effectivelyfor successful project execution.

Required Education/Professional Experiences: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • 7 years of professional experience in product management, technology, engineering, planning or related field.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with successful results.
  • Ability to articulate concepts and critical informationat various levels of the organization.
  • Cost/benefit analysis, data analysis, and project planning experience

Preferred Education/Professional Experiences: 

  • Fundamental understanding of paper attributes.
  • Experience translating market trends and customers’ unmet needs into actionable product strategies and plans.
  • Experience with project management software and tools
