Salary Range : $64,480.00 - $70,000.00 Salary/year
Travel Percentage : Up to 25%
Position Summary
As part of an established and successful undergraduate recruitment team, the candidate will work to promote the value of a Dominican education by recruiting, evaluating, and admitting students.
The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions will focus primarily on the admissions, recruitment, outreach and enrollment for the Applied Computer Science program, within the Barowsky School of Business. The position will also support university wide recruitment and outreach efforts, for other programs.
This position can be either campus-based or regionally based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Seasonality of the recruitment cycle will facilitate the opportunity for in-person and remote hours.
Responsibilities
Prospective Student Counseling
  • Manage student interest from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Establish a relationship with prospective students and their families through mediums including but not limited to in-person, phone, email, text, social media, and Virtual/Zoom.
  • Answer questions about admissions requirements and application process.
  • Conduct admission interviews and tours, arrange for classroom visits, and give presentations to prospective students and targeted professional audiences.
  • Build relationships with high school counselors, college transfer counselors, professional networks, and workforce development organizations.
Recruitment Travel
  • Visit high schools and community colleges to promote Dominican and recruit students by giving presentations, speaking with students individually, and in group meeting.
  • Identify and build strategic relationships that support overall enrollment growth of Barowsky School of Business undergraduate programs:
    • School Districts
    • County of Education
    • Community Colleges
    • Public / Private Higher Education Institutions
    • STEM / Computer Science specific conferences, workshops, and fairs.
    • Tech Related Clubs and Agencies.
    • Government Workforce services / Workforce Development Agencies
    • Vocational / Trade / Bootcamp Schools
  • Conduct outreach at high schools and community colleges to promote college in general by giving presentations.
  • Coordinate all aspects of travel including scheduling, transportation, and accommodation.
  • Extensive travel will be required during the year. Evening and weekend hours will be required throughout the year.
Application Review
  • Review student files including transcripts, test scores, essays, applications, and letters of recommendation for evaluation purposes.
  • Follow up with applicants to complete files and update necessary information.
  • Partner with ACS Faculty and Staff for applicant reviews and processing.
Daily Operations
  • Manage the contacting funnel from prospect to enrollment, including phone, text, email, online, and phone contact.
  • Work with ACS Faculty, Staff, and Marketing for development of recruitment materials and resources.
  • Enter and track information in database to manage recruitment efforts.
  • Meet regularly with supervisor and other key stakeholders for enrollment updates.
  • Send weekly reports on territory and project management to supervisor to track progress throughout the year.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify possible partnerships and development of MOUs.
Recruitment Events
  • Assist in coordination of recruitment events such as open houses and receptions, specific to ACS.
  • Attend and assist in the coordination of on and off campus recruitment events to interact with prospective students and their families.
  • Partner with outside tech communities for possible recruitment events.
Project Management
  • Participate in and lead ongoing admissions office projects such as student ambassadors, campus events, alumni programs, publications, electronic recruitment, promotional items, etc.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate manuals for program management and recruiting.
  • Assist in research related to domestic and international recruitment strategies and outreach planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with and interest in tech companies and software engineering
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines in deadlines and goal driven environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver presentations to diverse constituencies
  • Proficient computer literacy
  • Project and event management skills
  • Prior portfolio / territory management experience.
  • Perform other duties/tasks assigned to support the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Current drivers license and satisfactory driving record required and must be maintained
  • Must be willing to consent to background investigation
  • Must be able to rent automobiles
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
