Order Selector

Schedule: 2nd-shift, Monday - Friday; 3pm - 11:30pm (with Overtime required as necessary)

New Wage:$20.00 per hour

Bonus Opportunities up to $200 PER WEEK Our warehouse is equipped with technology that allows you to see how your order building pace compares to your coworkers. At the end of each week, those who build orders at a set speed or above (while maintaining accuracy and integrity in your work, of course!) will be eligible for a bonus. The faster you work, the more earning potential you have.

Position Description:

Reporting to the PM Warehouse Manager, this position is responsible for but not limited to picking cases from the fleet loader pallet pick sheet and assisting in shrink wrapping product. Selectorwill also be responsible for positioning the pallet in the proper bay location as specified on the pick sheet. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, mission and policies of Doll Distributing LLC; State of Iowa laws and regulations governing the beer industry; and brewery/supplier requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Uses a scanner and mobile device to identify items to be picked to build orders
  • Build stable and workable pallets with the product that the pallet ticket states
  • Selects orders in an efficient and accurate manner according to company standards
  • Understand and comply with all supplier product code dates, freshness, and rotation policies
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in selecting products and loading trucks
  • Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal/external customer
  • Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Compliance with all company and equipment safety regulations.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Any other work as assigned.

Non Essential Functions:

  • May have occasional interaction with customers
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse (beer leveled and plastic removed from pallet)

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School or GED (General Education Diploma) required.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred, but not required

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills; Outlook email experience or ability to learn
  • Basic mathematical aptitude skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions
  • Ability to obtain certification in forklift and electric pallet-jack operations
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customer

Working Conditions:

  • Temperature/Climate
    • This position will spend 95% of the shift in a climate-controlled environment and 5% of the shift in an outdoor environment
  • Safety Considerations
    • This position will routinely drive forklift trucks, electric pallet-jacks and other cleaning equipment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment necessary
    • Steel-toed boots/shoes with skid-proof soles may be required
  • Physical/Mental Organizational Capabilities
    • The visual ability necessary to read and interpret a computer screen is required. The hearing ability necessary for voice pick system & to communicate with others is required. The ability to differentiate product types. The individual must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with employees and customers on all levels of the organization.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: "Building Brands. Building Relationships." Merlin & Edith Doll founded Doll Distributing in 1965, purchasing Simmons Distributing of Hastings, Nebraska, with a starting inventory of 2,260 Budweiser cases, 33 Budweiser kegs, 355 Goetz cases and seven (7) tap accounts.
