Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort is Hiring a Grill Master Summer 2024 Near Pinecrest, CA

Summary of Job Purpose

Food and Beverage Grill Cook play a key role in providing our guests with excellent customer service at Dodge Ridge. They are one of the first employees to arrive at the mountain, beginning their morning taking and filling Breakfast & Lunch orders for our guests. The Grill Cook has the responsibility to interact pleasantly and professionally with guests while busily preparing and serving food orders. This position may be located at the Creekside Lodge, Outside BBQ or Locals mid-mountain restaurant. Working as a team member and focusing on fulfilling our guest’s needs are the key roles for the Grill Cook. Food and Beverage is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Interacting with guests in a courteous manner
Being able to answer questions professionally.
Demonstrate the ability to cook eggs, burgers, grilled sandwiches and other food items related to serving and preparing in a faced paced environment.
Fill breakfast and lunch orders as they come in, while making the plates neat and appetizing.
Clean tables and empty garbage, clean up the work area, and take dirty dishes to the dish room.
Cooperate with other cooks and line workers in order to get our customers fed efficiently.
Long hair must be tied up at all times, in a hat, hair net or pulled back.
Follow daily production sheets and complete at the end of day.
Keep work area neat and clean, this includes, but is not limited to other area
Rotate, label and control food usage.
Help keep the dish room clean.
Garnish line for presentation.
Present specials as needed.
Practice safe food handling.
Maintain a waste sheet.
Help put away supplies.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Good organizational skills
Must be well groomed and present a good public image.
Good physical condition as this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying.
Good manual and physical dexterity skills.
Safety and risk orientated.
Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.
Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment.
Strong cooking skills with egg pans, broiler operations, etc
Ability to possess “California Food Handlers Card”

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests in the campgrounds have a great deal of influence in the scheduling of campground employees. When conditions are normal, you can expect to work up to 40 hours a week. During the busy periods you may be expected to work overtime if needed. You can expect to work most weekends and holidays when the campgrounds are open, evening shifts may also be required. You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive to your work station at your scheduled time.

Working Conditions

At any time during the season, Dodge Ridge employees must often perform their tasks in variable weather conditions; high winds, rain, snow, and extremely warm temperatures.

Work is typically inside working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members. During summer operations it can be noisy, cold, hot, dry, or humid. You may be expected to work in warm places and often you will work around hot and cold objects. At times you may be asked to work the grill, as a line server, or a server for an extended time period.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please always wear your nametag and uniform during your scheduled shift. We will supply most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will have to supply some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.
