DODGE COUNTY JOB POSTING: Account Technician

POSITION TITLE: Account Technician (Public Health)

DATE OF CLOSING: Open Until Filled

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Public Health & Business Office Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Performs accounting procedures so that the medical and financial status of the Public Health Department is recorded, reported, legal and current.

WAGE RANGE: $20.87 - $27.77

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for billing services to State, insurance and private pays and entering payments.

Prepares State/Federal Grant expenditure reports. Responsible for receipts, expenditures, and grants.

Maintains and creates spreadsheets and prepares statistical and fiscal reports needed for costing of services, monitoring of revenues and expenditures, and related purposes.

Monitors the receipt coding process to audit accuracy of account input. Reconciles with Finance Department.

Prepares and maintains accurate accounting records by utilizing standard accounting principles and accounts receivable computer software.

Maintains current knowledge of administrative and procedural requirements.

Serves as backup for day-to-day operations such as, receptionist, mail, photocopying, making appointments for various departmental programs, answer phones.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Well established accounting background. Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures and practices. Proficient in the use of Word and Excel. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Demonstrated proficiency to organize work efficiently and effectively and to provide accurate work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in accounting or related major and three years of related experience; or a combination of related education and experience will be considered. Subject to criminal background check.
