What you'll do

We are seeking an analyst to join DocuSign's Regulatory Compliance team. You'll work closely with attorneys, engineers, product managers and other business and compliance teams within DocuSign to support the company's trade compliance program and help ensure our adherence to relevant laws, rules, and regulations. You may also provide support to DocuSign's third party anti-corruption program by conducting legal due diligence and other activities on prospective and existing DocuSign partners.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Compliance.

Responsibility

  • Ensure DocuSign's trade compliance program adheres to Office of Foreign Assets Controls (OFAC) regulations and sanctions programs, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), various economic and trade sanctions programs, and other applicable export laws and regulations
  • Perform global sanctions screening and collaborate with various business functions, including Legal, HR, Sales Ops, Product & Engineering, and Service Protection, to build integrated trade compliance processes and end-to-end controls including additional screening, product geo blocking and restricted party compliance
  • Conduct activities related to export control reviews, ECCN product classification, export licensing, deemed exports, anti-boycott laws, and other trade compliance areas
  • Draft and file periodic regulatory reports with OFAC and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)
  • Work with teams across DocuSign to develop, implement and maintain trade compliance policies, guidelines and operational playbooks
  • Provide guidance to our business clients
  • Help develop and deliver impactful training to relevant stakeholders to build awareness of our trade compliance program
  • Identify existing or potential trade compliance risk considerations and seek input from management and outside counsel as necessary
  • Monitor rapidly changing trade compliance landscape and risk areas and communicate to business stakeholders on operational impacts
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to the development of tools to automate and scale-up DocuSign's trade compliance procedures
  • Support anti-corruption compliance activities, such as third party due diligence, desktop audits, and transaction inspections
Job Designation

Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.

What you bring

Basic

  • 5 years of experience in trade compliance in sanctions regulations and export controls, third party diligence, or a similar area
  • Experience with U.S. trade-related laws and regulations
  • Experience with screening tools such as AEB, Dow Jones, Dun & Bradstreet Restricted Party Screening or SAP Global Trade Services
  • Experience working in or supporting legal or ethics and compliance teams
  • Experience supporting, leading and delivering successful compliance projects

Preferred

  • 4 years of experience in trade compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team and build strong cross functional partnerships
  • Experience on an in-house ethics and compliance team, particularly in the tech sector
  • Demonstrated interest in legal technology
  • Ability to work efficiently, prioritize and adjust workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and handle multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with DocuSign products, the technology industry, and SaaS
Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $93,500 - $143,175 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $87,400 - $120,175 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $87,400 - $128,525 base salary
