Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Requirements and Configuration Specialist promotes DSS, Inc.’s mission by providing the highest level of client care while working with clients to obtain requirements for successful product implementations. Candidate will be an experienced clinician that will perform hands on configuration of the software application based on the customer requirements and have a good understanding of the prescribing process which will include IV drugs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Obtain site’s requirements for configuration and implementation including successful completion and maintenance of client’s requirements documentation.
  • Creates and modifies product configurations based on client’s captured, approved requirements
  • Creates and adapts requirements and configuration processes, documentation and deliverables based on client need, product enhancements and process improvements
  • Works with clients, product line manager, and partner company to capture product change requests and product limitations for potential future approval and release with ability to effectively communicate the client’s need and product benefits for these changes to internal stakeholders
  • Travel approximately 36 weeks per year to include weekends and holidays when necessary while abiding by Training Services Department Employee Handbook
  • Provide on-site, in person training in both classroom settings and one on one mentoring formats
  • Provide on-site support during customer Go Live
  • Works with DSS Staff (Training, QA, Sales, Support) to promote understanding of configurable elements of product and site-specific configurations
  • Works with DSS staff (Technical/Application Support and QA) to resolve issues related to configuration, use of products, reports, data, etc.

Other Duties:

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of health care IT industry trends, health care standards, best practices, and initiatives in relation to clinical and surgical workflow and product implementation
  • Will be involved with web-based presentations (product demos, etc.) when needed
  • Is responsible for written and verbal communication with clients and documentation of work activities and work processes.
  • Is responsible for home (or office) based assignments when not on the road, given by Sr Manager, and/or Product Line Manager
  • Provide guidance to training staff and support departments in his/her area of expertise.
  • Maintain a record of all company expenses and submit monthly expense reports in a timely manner per Employee Expense Compliance Agreement.
  • Coordinate travel plans (flights, rental car, hotels, etc. according to Employee Handbook).
  • Work on Home (or Office) Based Assignments when not on the road training as allocated by Sr Manager, and/or Product Line Manager
  • Attend meetings and conference calls at the direction of Sr Manager, and/or Product Line Manager
  • Possess exceptional skills in partnering with clients/business partners/staff and in developing and maintaining long-term supportive relationships
  • Ability to organize time effectively while identifying barriers to progress, proposing solutions and setting priorities and adapt to changing processes
  • Submit hours using the Time and Attendance System abiding by DSS established guidelines

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

  • Required:
    • Knowledge of medical and technical terminology
    • Knowledge of healthcare industry or VA facilities
    • Knowledge of requirements processes
    • Knowledge of clinical workflow processes and standards
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical elements to clinical staff and clinical elements to technical staff
    • Detail-oriented and client focused
    • Excellent listening skills and clear and concise presentation skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.)
    • Aptitude for understanding technical process and the ability to learn new software as needed

Education:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; combo of experience and education will be considered.
    • RN, LPN, MSA or Pharm Tech

    • Bachelor of Public Health or similar degree
    • Master of Health Communication
