Medical Biller

A well-established and highly respected vascular surgery practice in Palm Harbor, FL is seeking a full-time in-house Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and motivated individual with a passion for helping patients and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

- Generate and submit accurate electronic and paper medical claims to insurance companies.

- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services.

- Review and interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, appealing when necessary.

- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and discrepancies.

- Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate patient billing and account reconciliation.

- Stay current with medical billing codes, regulations, and industry changes.

- Assist in the development and implementation of billing process improvements.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in medical billing or related field preferred.

- Proven experience (5 Years) working as a Medical Biller

- Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding systems, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.

- Expertise in insurance claims and reimbursement processes.

- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. The practice currently uses eClinical Works.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and claim submissions.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff.

- Problem-solving abilities to address claim discrepancies and denials.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
