Doctors of Physical Therapy is Hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer Near Hickory, NC

The Industrial Athlete Powered by Doctors of Physical Therapy is looking for a full time Athletic Trainer (32 hours/week) to assist in the coverage of a large grocery distribution center in Hickory, North Carolina. The following is the schedule for the ATC but could change based on staffing needs.

Monday- Thursday 2p.m.- 8p.m.

Friday 9a.m.- 4p.m.

No weekends.

Day to day responsibilities can include:

  • Injury Prevention
  • Development and management of a comprehensive injury/illness prevention program
  • Job Coaching, utilizing safety training and program materials.
  • Development of early detection, intervention, and treatment guidelines for Cumulative
  • Trauma Disorders
  • Lifting labs in accordance with current lifting guidelines, instructions, or programs, or using those developed by TIA. as a training tool.
  • Development and delivery of injury prevention education programs utilizing safety training and program materials.
  • Ergonomic assessments
  • Conduct workplace walkthrough sessions on a specified, regularly scheduled basis, perthe instruction of management, focusing on:
  • Conduct first aid and blood borne pathogens training as requested.
  • Injury Treatment
  • Provision of on-site emergency care and first aid to employees
  • Assessment and treatment of on-the-job injuries and illnesses and refers teammates to other sources for evaluation and treatment protocols outside his/her scope of practice
  • Assessment of non-occupational strains, sprains or first aid issues to determine need for immediacy of treatment and offers recommendations for follow up care with their personal health care providers.
  • Facilitation of successful return-to-work as per the current guidelines and policies
  • Data collection and reporting of any and all pertinent information as identified by both the client and The Industrial Athlete.
  • Participates in Safety Management Team meetings as directed.
  • Maintains a high visibility on the warehouse floor.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

BOC certified

CPR/AED/First Aid Certified

Preferred American Red Cross CPR/AED First Aid Instructor

Ability to be flexible
