The DMV Early Childhood Nutrition Task Force, “Taskforce” provides hands-on support and care where the city needs it the most. Serving the children across all 8 wards in D.C. with families of 0- 5 children. Thus we present a strong interest group to pull from community influence and communal change. We create systemic change for families by engaging into the formative years. The mission of the DMV Early Childhood Nutrition Task Force is to improve the health, fiscal, and social lives of low-income families through care, collaboration, and consistent support to the early childcare sector.
Overview of the position:
We are seeking to add an "as-needed" PI to our team as we begin to formulate research pilots in the area of secondary-analysis, and intervention level experimentation.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all research activities and foster a culture of research integrity. Responsible for fiscal and administrative management of research. Conduct research in an objective and unbiased manner in compliance with policies and regulations. While the PI may delegate responsibility for some project activity to others, the PI is ultimately responsible for compliance with all applicable regulations and policies and for ensuring a safe research environment, meaning one that is inclusive and free from any form of discrimination or harassment.
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (MD, PhD, JD, etc.) in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Proven experience in a research setting; including publishing, co-authoring or supportive research roles
- Strong background in surveillance, data collection, report writing, early childhood research, or related areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a diverse team of educators effectively.
