DLU Healthcare is Hiring a Reginal Nurse Consultant Near East Syracuse, NY

NY Regional Nurse Consultant position available for dynamic, responsible RN with a passion for people and an eye for detail. Work with a great team to improve the lives of our residents and ensure the company continually moves in the right direction.
 
Qualifications:
· Current NYS registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse, IP certification a plus
· Director of Nursing experience preferred
· Must have:
o Operational experience in LTC and SNF
o Working Knowledge of NYS and Federal regulations
o Proficiency in computer programs, electronic communications, and electronic medical records (MatrixCare preferred)
o Excellent communication skills
o Reliable transportation and willingness to travel across upstate NY
 
Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of our Corporate Director of Nursing, the person in this role acts as an advisor for a portfolio of skilled nursing facilities, providing oversight and guidance in a variety of areas.
Oversight
· Works in partnership with the company leadership team to reach goals, targets and deadlines for the benefit and improvement of the quality of the facility and company.
· Timely notify the appropriate company leadership of events which pose potential compliance and/or litigation risks.
· Assist facility leadership with managing, investigating and providing follow-up education related to such events.
· Review Quality Data and Quality Measures (CMS 5 Star, CASPER, QM/QI) and assist facility leadership with development of PIP (performance improvement) action plans.
· Participate in the creation, revision and implementation of company policies and procedures in accordance with changes in standards of practice with state and federal regulations
· Act as a DON on a temporary basis as needed
 Routine Visits
· Travel as required to various facilities, conferences and meetings which may include overnight stays. Hours of work are based on need and amount of time necessary to perform the job responsibilities including on-call and emergencies.
· Provide verbal and/or written report of findings and recommendations for follow up to Administrator, DON and appropriate company leadership.
· Communicate with facility leadership by reporting onsite observations to the Administrator and DON, by conducting entrance and exit conferences during each visit
· Maintain effective communication regarding facility clinical performance, site visit schedules, survey activity and other clinically-related information.
· Communicate and Report to Corporate Director of Nursing, working together to improve care and streamline operations.
