The DLP Staffing is currently accepting applications for the position of:
POSITION TITLE: CAMP MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Location: Laredo, TX
 | FLSA: Exempt | Hire Pay: $20.00 HOUR | Classification: Full time.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Facilities Maintenance at our Laredo, TX base camp, you will play a crucial role in the installation, repair, and upkeep of our facilities. Your expertise in facility systems, hands-on maintenance skills, and commitment to safety will contribute to the smooth operations of our camp.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Check and maintain the functionality of electrical and hydraulic systems in buildings.
  • Perform repairs and installations, including both preventative maintenance and larger repairs as needed.
  • Monitor and track equipment inventory, ensuring availability for maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with contractors and service providers, managing relationships to ensure effective repairs and installations.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and provide daily activity reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Support scheduled safety and quality inspection. 
  • Perform refueling of generators and maintenance of water systems.
  • Fulfill all assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be willing to work in austere/spartan environments, adapting to unstable work hours during standup.
  • May be deployed for short-term or long-term assignments for site development.
  • Comfortable with heavy construction or facility maintenance labor, potentially requiring extended work hour
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably.
  • Safely climb structures as required.
  • Endurance for excessive walking daily throughout the complex.
  • Prepared to transfer between site locations as needed, including under adverse environmental conditions
  •  Proficiency in using both heavy and light equipment for various tasks.
  • Capable of performing assigned physical duties
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the CEO. The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility and authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
 
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to the DLP Staffing drug-free workplace policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proficiency in facility systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, and electricity.
  • Experience using a variety of power tools, hand tools, plumbing equipment, and ground maintenance tools.
  • Knowledge of employee supervision, work planning, discipline, and performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and ordinances related to public works infrastructure.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, establish relationships, and contribute to team goals.
  • Skill in maneuvering, towing, and transporting equipment.
  • High school diploma or similar. 
  • Relevant license or certification. 
  • A valid driver's license. 
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Electrical and Plumbing. 
  • Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction. 
  • Must pass a federal background check. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test. 
Other:
Valid Drivers’ License Class C.
